You are right, they are exactly the same except their module output cables.
Looks like most of the manufacturers are moving towards using PV Wire.

Sharp pulled down the F1 and F3 modules from their website and they don't do marketing anymore.

Definately, thanks for this info that makes a lot of sense. Are all of the manufactures moving to the PV Wire? Will they also moving to the new locking connector?
It seems that PV manufactures are making this move to PV wire from the junction box. There is talk that NEC is going to change the code and require it. I think Sharp is trying to get in front of this change and adjust their modules prior to the requirement change.
