I found out that both Sharp NU-U235F4 and NU-U235F3 exists. The data sheets look exactly th the same. What does F3 and F4 refer to?

Comments

You are right, they are exactly the same except their module output cables.

  • F3: 12 AWG USE-2 wire (43.3") with MC4 locking connectors
  • F4: 12 AWG PV Wire (43.3") with MC4 locking connectors.

Looks like most of the manufacturers are moving towards using PV Wire.

Thank you so much! And the difference between F2 and F3 is the frame. Correct?

Correct.

  • F1: Clear frame, USE-2 output cable
  • F2: Clear frame, PV Wire output cable
  • F3: Black frame, USE-2 output cable
  • F4: Black frame, PV Wire output cable

Sharp pulled down the F1 and F3 modules from their website and they don't do marketing anymore.

Definately, thanks for this info that makes a lot of sense.   Are all of the manufactures moving to the PV Wire?   Will they also moving to the new locking connector?

It seems that PV manufactures are making this move to PV wire from the junction box.  There is talk that NEC is going to change the code and require it.  I think Sharp is trying to get in front of this change and adjust their modules prior to the requirement change.
