The basic idea is that the higher the voltage the more watts you will have. Let's say we have an 80A charge controller. 80A * 12V = 960 Watts 80A * 24V = 1,920 Watts 80A * 48V = 3,840 Watts In certain circumstances any one of the three systems is appropriate, but it's load dependant.
