Wondered if the Fronius Galvo 2.5-1 is an equivalent replacement for my Fronius IG 3000 that just failed after 9 years? Neil My system is small, 14 panels, 2300 watts, California rating 1900 I think. I want to replace my inverter with another Fronius since I got good service out of the old one and the Galvo is warranteed for 10 years, not 5. I can't figure out from the specs if the Galvo is a truly equivalent inverter.

Hello Neil,  the galvo 2.5 might be a good candidate for you.  I would like to be sure it will work for you. What modules currently have installed in the system?  Are they wired in strings of 7?

My original purchase contract says 14 Kyocera KC170GT 170 watt modules, or equivalent. I don't know if I have the equivalent or not as any labels on them are too sun-washed to read. I have no idea how they are connected but have been told that maybe all in one string since performance is really degraded if one module is shaded. So I really don't know. I am trying to buy a new inverter and have my old solar company install it, since it is too much for me. Neil

Thanks Neil,  that was very helpful.  Base on that module and your location the Galvo 2.5-1 will work with your existing array of modules in a single string of 14.
