In stead of running a power line from home with connections, burried sections, etc., would like to power the water fountain with a local solar unit. The pump will be model Little Giant 501003, with electical specs 70W 115V 1.1A. Please advise what solar units can do this job. Thank you.

AG,  to run the Little Giant you would need more than just the solar module.  The solar modules output is DC and the pump operates on AC power.  That would require having a power inverter such as the Morningstar SureSine #SI-300-115.  The inverter gets power from a DC source (battery) and that battery is charged by the solar module through a charge controller.  Those would be the primary components needed to run the Little Giant pump.

Alternatively, if a PV direct DC pump where used, only the PV module would be needed.  That is, unless the pump must run at night, in this case a battery is still needed.
