Can a 600VDC fuse be used to protect an inverter from excess voltage input?
At 10 degrees F the input voltage for the inverter I want to use will become too great, or over 600V.
At the install location 10 degree days are very rare, but do occur. Will fuses protect a circuit from excess voltage? Or only excess amps?

fuses only protect against overcurrent. They do nothing about voltage. However, be aware that you must not use a fuse rated for a voltage lower than your system voltage. Many fuses are rated for one voltage for AC use, and another, lower voltage for DC use.
