In looking at the installation information for the M-215 Enphase Micro-inverters, it appears that each string of 17 inverters ( single phase system ) simply gets wired back to a 20A 2-pole breaker. Just a standard breaker? No other requirements other then code? Seems too simple! I must be missing something!

That's the beauty of Microinverters - just an AC circuit. Here are a couple of considerations:
  1. Watch the voltage drop - nothing over 0.5% if possible
  2. If you need to combine on the roof (or at the array) you need to use the breakers there.
  3. Your AHJ may require an AC disconnect down near the meter - make sure they sign off on your electrical plan and that they understand microinverters BEFORE inspection.
