How would we use solar to light a river bank?

In order to use a solar panel for lighting on our river bank, will we need to buy low wattage bulbs ?

Low wattage bulbs aren't necessary, but the lower the wattage, the smaller the PV system. There are lots of great outdoor low wattage lighting products. Here are the questions you need to ask:

How many lights to you need?
How large an area does each one cover?
How long will they run for each night?
