Howdy, Greentech Renewables!  I have an interesting question.  We're working on a commercial job with a standing seam roof, and the customer is really interested in the new Enphase M215.  Id like to use S-5! PV Clamps to keep the racking cost down.  I know I can just mount the new M215 on a single mini-clamp (nice design fix, Enphase!), but my concern is with the M215's cabling.

Will there be an issue with permitting if the cable doesn't have a rail to tie to?  Do you foresee any other issues?

Thanks for all your support, guys!

pvtexasted - if you were to add a short spacer between the clamp and the panel, wether it's S5! or Tra-Mage, you could cable tie to the spacers. The cable is snug.  It won't sag down and touch the seams.  And you will have better cooling.

I just posted about this.  Ken

Added protection for the cable where it is exposed to sun could be done easily and economicall if you use split-loom covering.  On my standing seam installation I will have to "jump the seam" between the vertical rows of panels.  If necessary, I will add a clamp on that middle seam with a P-clamp on it to attach the wire.
