I was looking at the Ontario (Canada) Micro Feed In Tariff program document. What I didn't understand is what products are deemed as domestic products. Do you have any idea how to find out?
Here is what it says on page 13:
Requirements
- For solar PV projects that reach commercial operation on or before December 31, 2010, the minimum required domestic content level is 40 percent.
- For solar PV projects that reach commercial operation on or after January 1, 2011, the minimum required domestic content level is 60 percent.

If you read further you can actually see the answer on page 13 and 14:
For the modules, inverters or the labor, a combined percentage should be Ontario content. Such as;
- Silicon (adds 10% QP 'qualifying percentage')
- Ingots and wafers (12% QP)
- Active PV layers (10% QP)
- PV modules (13% QP)
- Inverter assembly (9% QP)
- Mounting systems (9% QP)
- Wiring and electrical hardware (10% QP)
- Labor and services (27% QP)
I also came across this Ontario Content product listing on Greentech Renewables.
One way is to contact the module or inverter manufacturers to see whether their products are compliant.
