The USDA's "Rural Energy for America Program," or “REAP,” offers a grant designed to encourage agricultural and rural businesses to maximize their energy efficiency with solar.

Solar Incentives in South Carolina

South Carolina offers a 25% tax credit on the cost of installing a solar power system. The maximum credit is $3,500 or 50% of your state tax liability up to 10 years, whichever is less.

In South Carolina, businesses can get a 100% property tax exemption for solar systems 20 kW or under. 

South Carolina's three main utility companies, Duke Energy Progress, Duke Energy Carolinas, and Dominion Energy South Carolina participate in net metering where businesses can receive utility-specific electricity credits for any excess kilowatt-hours (kWh) remaining at the end of the month.
