The USDA's "Rural Energy for America Program," or “REAP,” offers a grant designed to encourage agricultural and rural businesses to maximize their energy efficiency with solar.

Solar Incentives in Iowa

Iowa offers a 100% sales tax exemption for solar system equipment, allowing businesses to save Iowa's 6% sales tax. 

In Iowa, the added value of a solar system on a commercial building are exempt from the state's property tax for 5 years. 

Iowa's net metering policy allows commercial businesses to receive credits for excess energy that their solar system produces. Credits can be applied to future utility bills to alleviate energy costs.
