Straight to the point, you could use AC modules in an off-grid system if you employed an AC-coupled architecture.  This assumes that you have a decent amount of AC loads that occur during the day when the sun is shining. Depending on your particular circumstances, this could be a viable option.  Feel free to contact us with your energy use profile and we'll work with you to design a system that works best for your circumstances.

It's possible but not the easist or least expensive solution. Basically you can't just use AC modules, you have to have an offgrid inverter in addition to them to supply the AC signal required for the AC modules to operate and to interact with the battery bank. So unless the AC modules are free it's probably going to be less expensive to go with a standard DC coupled off grid system.
