I'm interested in an Outback Flexpower Two FP2-10 prewired with a pair of VFX3648's.

Will the FP2-10 Output 7.2kw at 240VAC, or will it only output 3.6kw at 240VAC?
I have a stove and dryer that run at 240VAC that I would like to use periodically. I need up to 7.2kw of 240VAC power output.
Will I need to purchase a separate Outback Autotransformer?
The system is fully off-grid with generator back up. I may grid-tie the system in the future.
Thanks!

It will give you the combined capacity of 7.2 at either voltage. (110 or 240).
The system you are looking at is a classic stacking system. That means that each inverter supplies one leg of a 120/240V system and can't share power with the other leg. Each of the legs will have 3.6kW available and when connected to a 240V load you will have 7.2kW available.
The autotransformer allows what they call Outback stacking where one inverter can supply power to both legs of the system under low load conditions and allows power sharing between the two legs. This makes the system more efficient. You don't have to have one but you might want one if it helps save power in your system.
Since inverters are different for off grid and grid tied systems you won't be able to connect an off grid inverter to the grid in the future. You would have to replace this system to connect to the grid.
