Hi,

We are trying to design a solar power plant using a single axis tracker. Is there a different computation for Solar Inverter String Design Calculations for the single axis solar tracker. Also, if there are formulas to determine the correct spacing of the panels and strings. Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

Comments

Using a single axis tracker should not impact your maximum string length. Use the same cold corrected method as you normally would. Be mindful to maintain string voltage in the MPPT window of your inverter.

The tracker will yield more daily production than a fixed tilt system. For this reason, you may consider a more conservative DC : AC overload ratio.

Linked HERE is an inter-row spacing resource.

Feel free to give us a call for design assistance.
