Howdy, I am curious if anyone makes a nice, premium quality charger inverter that has Pure Sine wave output, and Solar charge controller all built into one????? Or is it best to get separate solar charge controller, and inverter/charger? I had been looking at xantrex..... looking for maybe 1,500 to 3,000 watt capacity on the inverter. Definitely want pure sine wave output Also looking for a nice solar panel(or panel with charger kit).. Maybe 15-50 watts. (I primarily want the solar to cover an ARB refrigerator at about a 1 amp draw(12v).) I will probably connect it all to 2 optima blue tops in parallel.(For he RV system) I want stuff that is marine grade, or better. I plan to be using it offroad in very harsh environments, and I dont want to mess with some cheap junk. There seems to be an enormous amount of stuff on the market, so I am unsure what the premium brands are, and who to trust with the design of my system. Thanks for any advice!

Hi Chris,

Good questions.  The inverter/chargers are not directly connect to PV modules.  The charging mode from these inverters takes shore power or generator power to charge the batteries.  To incorporate PV modules to help charge the house batteries you'll need a separate charge controller.

There are many great brands that we carry that have a pure sine wave output.  The most commonly used in RV's will be Magnum, Outback and Xantrex.  These manufactures have both the size and durability for off-road applications.  They can be used with 12, 24 and 48V output depending on the battery bank configuration.

Take a look at a few of these options and see if any of the inverters listed are what you're thinking of.
