If you want to be little bit more advanced, you can try solmetric's suneye. I think it's one of the best shading instrument in the market now. It gives you a quick and precise shading calculation by simply taking a 360 degree photograph of the region. Most of the inspectors are using Suneye.
There are couple of versions of it. If you are an installer and you are going to use for many projects, buy the one with GPS in it.
