I have a XantrexGT2.8 in Mexico. Inverter offline & AC voltage fault messages appear. How do i control grid voltage?

Generally speaking, you can't control grid voltage. There may be some things you can do if the voltage is not too far out of spec.

  • How far arre you from the point of connection to the grid (meter) or utility transformer?
  • Are there any heavy loads on your service panel that yu can turn off to see how the grid responds? For instance, if you have AC running, what happens when you turn if off for a few minutes?

A couple of things to keep in mind with grid ties in Mexico is that the voltage is 127VAC per line, additionally the Federal Commission of Electricity is known for ramping up the voltage in country setting to compensate for voltage drop occurring over long runs with substandard wire sizes.  Are you suffering from excessive voltage?  Secondly there is no grid neutral as there is in the north. I don't know the GT 2.8 but if it is measuring between the lines and the neutral if will work inconsistently.  With inverters like the SMA one can reset some internal jumpers so the grid signal is read between L1 and L2.  Let us know what you find out.
