Solar Entrepreneurs, Ashley and Dan have launched their new food cart in Portland named "Off the Griddle". The house specialty is a veggie burger of Ashley's invention and initial reports indicate that it is superb. Here's a link to their Facebook page.
Dan designed the PV system around 2 Sharp 130's, a SunForce 12V 30A Charge Controller and a 1000W Inverter. The system will offset a couple of small appliances at first, then it will be fine tuned over time as the Cart's consumption is better understood.

Fantastic use of solar. Thanks for the post and I can't wait to come to Portland to order that burger.
Looks like Portlanders are first at it again and have a lock on the solar powered food cart world. Here is another great use of solar at the Solar Waffle Works.
Here is another great use of solar to power street food cart called the Green Truck.
I like the idea regarding the use of solar to power street food cart. These food carts are very helpful to busy people who are always on the go. Seeing that yummy burger above makes me crave for my favorite burger. Two thumbs up for the people behind this solar power PV application. Good job!
