Greentech Renewables wants to help you become more successful.  To do so, we are seeking input from our installers on ways to improve your day-to-day operations in ways that will truly matter.

‘Back in my install days,’ there were many things that bogged me down.  Things such as:

  • not capturing enough information during the initial site visit
  • organizing my sales leads and customers
  • writing accurate proposals
  • coordinating shipments
  • paperwork processing
  • documenting system designs and as-builts
  • producing user manuals for built systems
  • networking issues for remote monitoring systems
  • billing, billing and more billing

… the list could probably go on and on for a while.  When a couple of these things piled up, my groove was disrupted and I felt like I was treading water somewhere out in the cold open sea.  This would occur a few times each year.  When it did, not only did I have to deal with the frustration and headaches that came with getting bogged down, I would add to the fire my yearning to find an all-encompassing solution to the growing pile of tasks.  Time and time again I would search for a tool, practice, strategy and / or process that would help me manage and prioritise what mattered most and organize the rest.

The result of these searches usually lead to some sort of CRM, database, spreadsheet, desktop / mobile application or a concoction of the aforementioned.  Unfortunately, the majority of ‘solutions’ never ended up sticking.  Additionally, my workflow never really aligned with the creator of the tool I was attempting to use.  To make the tool work, I would have to invest a ton of time and MW of energy molding the tool and my workflows into something compatible.

By the end of my installation days, not too long ago, I had found a couple of tools that were critical to my ability to continue moving forward.  I still use some of these tools here at Greentech Renewables, but in slightly different ways.  Anyways, the point of this post is to bring to our installers’ attention that Greentech Renewables is interested in taking on some of the burdens that you each face on a day-to-day basis.

So, I want to pose this question to all you:

Installers, what tools / services would you like to see Greentech Renewables develop to make your solar business run smoother, more efficiently and more profitable?

We are listening tell us your thoughts.  We want to make 2015 your biggest year yet.
