4.1kW Residential Roof Mount in Londonderry, Vermont

This project’s client is a green energy professional who built a highly efficient, resilient home in the Green Mountains of Vermont. The project involved a roof-mounted array on a detached, timber-frame garage coupled with two Tesla Powerwalls to create a whole-home energy solution.  A quote from the owner highlights a commitment to sustainability, from planning to execution:

“Throughout the design and build process of our house, we were always guided by the principles of energy efficiency and resilience. Our goal from the outset was a house that was all-electric, net zero, and tied to the grid, but could operate off-grid for long periods, if necessary. The house includes many energy efficiency measures such as passive house levels of insulation and infiltration, triple-glazed windows, heat pump heating, energy recovery ventilation, a supplementary wood stove, and many more. Despite all those measures, the house of course still consumes electricity (approximately 5,000 kWh per year). This is where the folks at Power Guru came in and designed a PV and battery system that completed our net zero and off-grid capable goals.”
